Model Steph Claire Smith reveals she felt ‘a little shaken up’ by her changing pregnancy body after struggling with self-image issues in the past

Steph Claire Smith is expecting her first child with husband Josh Miller.

The fitness model, 25, has reached her 20th week of pregnancy – and has begun to enjoy the journey. 

But she admits that her changing body was a bit of a shock at first, after she had suffered self image issues in the past.

In a column for Nine Honey, she wrote: ‘It was in that period where I knew I was pregnant, and was gaining weight, but did not have a pronounced bump yet. 

‘Jeans started to not fit, leggings started to roll down… and there was probably about a week there where I was a little shaken up by it.’

She added: ‘My old habit of negative self-talk started up, and I’m just so glad I was quick to shut it down.’

However, she soon learned to celebrate the changes as they came, revealing: 'Suddenly, my mindset switched inside. I got excited when certain clothes wouldn't fit'

‘I got excited when certain clothes wouldn’t fit, or were starting to feel tight, because to me that just meant I was getting further along in my pregnancy and my little baby inside was growing.’  

The model proudly showed off her blossoming baby in an Instagram post earlier this month.   

Posing in a sports bra and matching black underwear, she looked down fondly at her belly.

She marvelled in the caption: ‘Feeling him move about is the most surreal, magical feeling… 20 weeks today’.   

Steph was overjoyed when she recentlty shared a gender reveal video that featured Josh using a coloured smoke cannon to commemorate the special moment.

‘We cannot wait to meet our little dude,’ Steph captioned the adorable clip, where the couple discovered they were having a boy as blue smoke launched into the air. 

Last month, Steph and Josh announced their baby’s gender. 

Steph and Josh tied the knot in November 2019 by the waterside in a stunning park on the Murray River, in country Victoria in a festival-themed ceremony.  

The beauty admitted to having a crush on Josh since she was 12, but the couple didn’t start dating until their late teens.
